Italian Christmas Cookie

Italian cookie for this festive season, its simple and nice. These cookies are so puffy, light, airy and not too sweet . So here is recipe for you all to try.

  • All purpose Flour 3 1/2 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Vanila Extract 2 tsp
  • Butter 1/2 cup
  • Eggs 4 nos
  • Baking Powder 3 tsp
For the Glaze
  • Confectioners Sugar 2 cup
  • Vanila Extract 1 tsp
  • Water 6 tsp

Preheat Oven 200 degree C for 10 minutes. Sift and keep dry ingredients. Now beat butter with an electric beater, add sugar and beat well till its soft. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Grease the trey and keep aside. Now just roll the cookie dough and keep in the greased trey, it will stick to hands. Now reduce oven temperature into 180 degree C and bake cookies for 15 minutes. 

Mean while will prepare the glaze. Mix all ingredients under ' for the glaze' stir until creamy. Once the cookies ready, dip cookies into glaze and sprinkles. Place cookies on wire rack with wax paper to collect the dripping glazing and sprinkles. 

NB: The cookie size you can reduce while rolling, mine is little big like scorns. I didn't get confectioners sugar while making this so used castor sugar. So the glaze not that visible. So please use confectioneries sugar. Enjoy cooking..
