Chickpea and Spinach Curry

Simple, delicious and healthy curry with chickpeas and spinach. Here is recipe for you all to try.

  • Chickpeas 1 1/2 cup
  • Baby Spinach 1 put
  • Onion 1 chopped
  • Ginger 1 small piece, chopped
  • Garlic 4 cloves, chopped
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Green chilli 2 slitted
  • Tomato 1 medium size, chopped
  • Salt
  • Coconut Milk 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice 2 tsp
  • Oil

Clean and pressure cook the chickpeas and keep aside. Heat oil in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and saute till it softened. Add the chopped ginger and garlic saute well. Now add the green chilli and saute for 1 minute. Add the chilli powder and turmeric powder and cook for 1 minute till the raw smells goes of. Add the chopped tomato and salt cook another 4-6 minutes until the tomatoes become soft. Add the cooked chickpeas now cover and cook for 2 minutes. Open and add coconut milk and simmer in a few minutes until the gravy thickens. Now add garam masala and lemon juice Add the spinach and cover and cook for a few minutes until its cooked. Check salt if need add accordingly. Serve this curry with rice, nan or bread.
