A deliciously spicy medium gravy chicken liver masala. I like chicken liver not fond of mutton liver. Here is simple and flavourful recipe for you all to try.
Ingredients
- Chicken Liver 250gm
- Onion 1 big, chopped
- Green Chilli 3 chopped
- Ginger 1 piece chopped
- Garlic 4 cloves chopped
- Tomato 1 small chopped
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
- Pepper Powder 1/4 tsp
- Curry Leaves 2 sprigs
- Ghee 1 tsp
- Oil
- Salt
Method
Cut liver as medium size pieces. Rinse in water few times with little turmeric powder. This helps to remove any toxins in the liver. Apply little turmeric powder in the liver pieces and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan add chopped ginger and garlic saute well, now add chopped onions and 1 sprig curry leaves. When onions becomes soft add green chilli and saute for two minutes. Add all spice powders except pepper powder and saute it for a minute. Add the chopped tomato saute well, till it becomes soft. Add the liver pieces and mix well so that the masala get coated well on the pieces. Add little water and cover with a lid and cook in medium flame. Give a stir in-between. When water is half reduced add salt and mix well cover and cook till liver is soft. Open the lid and add pepper powder and curry leaves. Mix well. Put off flame and serve with Chapathi or Rice.
NB: If you have shallots / small onion use that instead of normal onions, it tastes good. You can use ginger garlic paste instead of chopped ginger and garlic. If you like coriander leaves can add while serving. Enjoy cooking.
