Green Peas Pulao

Matar Pulao / Peas Pulao a quick one pot meal for a busy day. Good for packed lunch for kids and adults. Here is very easy and simple recipe for you all to try. 


Ingredients
  • Basmati Rice 1 cup
  • Green Peas 1/2 cup, blanched 
  • Green Chilli 2 nos
  • Ginger 1 small piece
  • Garlic 5 cloves 
  • Fennel Seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Onion 1 medium size, chopped
  • Mint Leaves few chopped
  • Water 2 cup
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Oil 
  • Ghee 
  • Bay Leaf 2nos
  • Cinnamon 1 piece
  • Cloves 3 nos
  • Cardamom 2 nos
  • Star Anees 1
Method

Wash and drain Basmati rice. And prepare Ghee Rice / Cooked Basmati Rice. Once the rice ready keep it aside.

Grind together the green chilli, chopped ginger, garlic and fennel seeds, make a fine paste and keep it aside.

Heat a medium size sauce pan and put oil add star anees, then add chopped onion saute for 2 minutes. Then add grinded paste and saute for sometime till the raw smell goes. Now add green peas and salt. Add little water and cook until the green peas is cooked. Add mint leaves pepper powder and lemon juice combine well. Now add prepared ghee rice and mix well. Keep it in low flame cover and cook for 1 minute. Then remove from flame. Serve warm with Raita or Pickle. 

NB: If you don't want to make ghee rice, cooked basmati rice and use. Enjoy cooking.
