Nellika Chamanthi( Gooseberry Chutney)

Yum
Gooseberry is a rich source of vitamin C, hope everybody knows the nutritional benefits of gooseberry . I love gooseberry, used to buy whenever its available and the best way to eat it is raw dipped in some salt. Little tangy, spicy and flavourful chamanthi. Here is an easy  recipe for you all to try.

Ingredients
  • Gooseberry 3 nos
  • Kandari Mulaku( Birds Eye Chillies) 2 nos
  • Green Chilli 1
  • Coconut 1/4 cup, grated
  • Ginger 1 small piece, chopped
  • Cumin Seeds a pinch
  • Curry Leaves 1 sprig
  • Salt
Method

Clean and deseed the gooseberry, put it in the mixer and grind with other ingredients. Please don't make it fine paste, like a chamanthi consistency. Its ready to serve now. You can serve this with warm rice or dosa.

NB: If you don't like the fresh taste of gooseberry in this chamanthi, just cook gooseberry in some water and use or steam the gooseberry and use. I used as it is because I like the fresh taste of gooseberry. Add chilli according to your spice level. Enjoy cooking..
