Rava Paniyaram / Sooji Paniyaram

Simple and instant rava paniyaram. Its soft and crispy. Good to serve as a breakfast or as an evening snack. Here is recipe for you all to try.

  • Rava / Sooji 1 cup
  • Curd / Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Baking Soda 1/2 tsp
  • Water 1/2 to 1 cup
  • Salt
  • Oil
For Seasoning
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Urad Dhal 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves 1 sprig
  • Onion 1 medium size, chopped finely
  • Green Chilli 2 nos , chopped finely

Take a bowl and put rava and curd, mix well. Add water little at a time and make it into a thick batter. Add salt and mix well. Set aside while you make the seasoning. 

Heat a pan on medium flame and add oil and mustard seeds once it crackle add urad dal and fry for few seconds then add curry leaves. Add chopped onion and green chilli and saute for a minute and keep it aside. 

Now add baking powder / soda in the batter and mix well. Now add the seasoning and combine well. 

Heat paniyaram pan with oil. Spoon some batter in and fry till the bottom crisp up. Flip over and cook. 

Remove and serve warm with the choice of your chutney. 

NB: I have added few ingredients only for seasoning. You can add grated carrots, beans cabbage etc. Enjoy cooking.
