Here is Toor Dal recipe, its simple and easy dal recipe and good for everyday cooking.
Ingredients
- Toor Dal 1/2 cup
- Tomato 1 chopped
- Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
- Green chilli 2 nos
- Garlic Cloves 3 chopped
- Coriander leaves few chopped
Method
Boil dal with salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and slit green chillies. You can boil dal in pressure cooker for 2 to 3 whistles.
In another pan, heat oil, add the cumin seeds, garlic cloves and tomatoes, saute on a medium high flame till the tomatoes are soft. Add the boiled dal into this with little water, boil well for 8 to 10 minutes to combine with masala. Garnish with Coriander leaves.
Serve warm with rice or roti.
NB: You can use masoor dal or mung dal instead of toor dal. Enjoy cooking.
