Its very delicious and easy curry to make. Here is the recipe for you all to try..
- Green Tomato 4 medium cut into chunks
- Green Chilli 3 slit lengthwise
- Onion 1 medium size sliced lengthwise
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli Powder 1 tsp
- Kudampuli/Kokum/Gambooge 2 pieces soaked in warm water for 10 min.
- Mustard Seeds
- Curry Leaves
- Salt
- Oil
Method
Cut green tomato into medium pieces. Cook it covered by adding 1/2 cup water, green chillies, sliced onion, salt to taste, till its soft.
Meanwhile grind grated coconut, garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric to a fine paste. Pour this to the cooked green tomato and bring to boil, add kudampuli now, and simmer for 3 - 4 minutes, stirring often and remove from flame.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they splutter add curry leaves and fry it for a minute. Pour this over the curry and serve warm with rice.
NB: If you don't want to add kudampuli, you can avoid that. You can make this curry instead of fish curry, it gives similar taste. Enjoy cooking.
