Pepper Fish Curry

Fish curry and rice, favourite combination for Keralites and Bangalis. We make deferent types of fish curries. Here is pepper fish curry, its flavourful  and with minimum ingredients. Black pepper and fish is an awesome combination. Here is recipe for you all to try

  • Fish 1/2 kg, King fish, Pamphle
  • Garlic 4 cloves
  • Green Chilli 4 nos
  • Shallots 10
  • Black Pepper 2 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Coconut Milk 1 cup, thick one
  • Cocum(Kudampuli) 2 pieces
  • Salt

Clean and wash fish, drain water well and keep it aside. Grind together shallots, garlic, green chilli, black pepper, coriander powder and turmeric power. 

Put the fish in a pan or earthen pot and add the ground paste and mix well with hands. Add enough water and kudampuli. Cook on low flame until the gravy becomes thick. 

Once the gravy becomes thick add coconut milk and curry leaves. Cook on very low flame and when it starts boiling remove from fire. Garnish with coriander leaves or curry leaves. Serve hot with warm rice or with Roti.
NB: Use any fleshy fish for this curry. If you want can add jeera(cumin seeds) also while making paste. Enjoy cooking..
