Chatti Dosa

Yum
Chatti Dosa, don't think too much as hearing the name. We normally make dosa in pan or tawa but this is a variety dosa made in Appa chatti or Cheena chatti. In my native muslims make like this dosa and they call it in different name.  I got this recipe from my school mates and I tried and liked it very much.  So thought of sharing with you all.  Here is recipe for you all to try.

Ingredients

  • White Rice 1 cup
  • Cooked Rice 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Coconut 1/4 cup, grated
  • Shallots 2 + 10 sliced
  • Green Chilli 2 nos, chopped
  • Curry Leaves 1 sprig, chopped
  • Salt
  • Ghee

Method

Soak white rice for 4 to 5 hours. Then grind soaked rice with cooked rice, coconut, 2 shallots and salt with little water. Keep it aside. Take a bowl and mix chopped shallots, green chilli and curry leaves together and keep aside. Now heat a non stick appachatti or cheenachatti on medium flame. Once its hot add 1 tsp of ghee into the appachatti and add 1 tsp of shallots mix and roast till shallots become brown. Now add 1 ladle of rice batter into the centre and  swirl the pan to coat the sides cover and cook for 30 second to 1 minute, once   it done just turn the dosa and cook the other side also. Serve warm with fish curry, egg roast or tomato thokku.
