Banana Bread with Choco Chips

Quick and easy banana bread, its a loaf cake made with mashed bananas. We can use up soft over ripe bananas for this recipe. Here is simple recipe for you all to try.


  • Butter 1/2 cup, room temperature
  • Brown Sugar 1/4 cup
  • White Sugar 3/4 cup
  • Banana 3 very ripe once
  • Egg 2 nos
  • Milk 1/2 cup OR 1/2 cup sour cream OR Butter milk
  • All Purpose Flour 1 cup
  • Wheat Flour 1/2 cup
  • Baking Powder 1 1/4 tsp
  • Cinnamon Powder 2 tsp
  • Vanila Essene 1 tbsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Chocolate chips 1/2 cup

Preheat oven to 200 degree C for 5 minutes. Grease loaf pan with butter and dust with flour. Mash Banana and keep it aside. 

In a bowl put butter and mix well with hand blender, then add both sugar and beat well. Add each egg one at a time and mix well. Now add mashed bananas, milk and vanilla essence. 

In a separate bowl mix all purpose flour, wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder and salt, combine well. 

Now gradually mix dry ingredients with the wet ingredients. Sprinkle little flour into the chocolate chips and just mix it. Fold chocolate chips into the batter and pour into the loaf pan. Reduce oven temperature into 180 degree C. Bake for 40 to 60 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. 

NB: Here I used butter milk, if you want can use milk or sour cream instead of butter milk. If you like can add little nutmeg powder also in this. For a healthy version instead of chocolate chips you can add chopped walnuts. Enjoy cooking.
