Cauliflower and Green Peas masala dry fry

Simple and quick side dish for chapatis. Cauliflower and Green Peas is all time favourite combination. Its a semi-spicy dish. Here is the recipe for you all to try.


Ingredients
  • Cauliflower 1 medium size
  • Green Peas 1 cup
  • Fennel Seeds 1 tsp
  • Onion 1 medium size , finely chopped
  • Garlic 4 cloves, finely chopped
  • Ginger 1 medium piece, finely chopped
  • Coriander Powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala 1/4 tsp
  • Tomato 1 medium size, chopped
  • Green chillies 3 , slitted
  • Salt
  • Coriander Leaves to garnish
Method

Clean cut cauliflower into florets, put the florets in a large bowl with hot water. Add a teaspoon of salt and mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes. 

If using the fresh green peas cook separately and keep aside. If its frozen one then put it in warm water and keep aside.

Heat oil in a deep, heavy - bottomed pan on medium flame. When oil is hot, add the fennel seeds and saute for 1 minute. Now add the chopped onion and saute till soft. Stir often. Add chopped ginger and garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and saute for 1 minute. Now add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies. Stir well and fry till tomatoes get soft. Now add the cauliflower florets and green peas, stir well. Add salt and garam masala and saute for 1 minute. cover and cook for 3- 5 minutes. Open the lid and stir well. Turn off the heat. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with Chapathis Or Parathas.

NB: If you want can add one potato also, that also tastes good. Enjoy cooking.
