Mushrooms are great for health. They are excellent source of vitamin D, protein and carbohydrates. They also help in maintaining cholesterol levels and are excellent for heart health. Mushrooms are a good source of vitamin b2, they naturally boost your immune system, help in weight management and are great for your skin and hair.

So here is a simple and easy recipe.. its a very good cocktail party starter.

For the mushroom
  • Button Mushrooms 200gm
  • Rosemary 1sprig
  • Thyme 1 sprig
  • Garlic 2 tsp chopped
  • Crushed Pepper Powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1 tbsp

For the sauce
  • Butter 1 tsp
  • Thyme 1 sprig
  • Garlic 1 clove chopped
  • Tomato puree or tomato ketch up 2 tbsp
  • Onion 1 medium chopped
  • Cheddar cheese 3 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves to garnish.

Marinate the mushroom with rosemary and thyme, chopped garlic, salt, pepper and a bit of oil for 20 minutes.

Cook mushrooms in the oven for 160 degree for 8 minutes.

For sauce

Take a pan, put butter and saute onion, garlic, tomato puree, thyme and cook for sometime.

Remove from flame and let it cool for 2 minutes.

Add cheese to the above mixture and blend it. After sauce is made, taste and check if seasoning is required since cheese already has salt.

Pour cheese sauce into a small bowl, and put roasted mushrooms on a toothpick with coriander leaves and serve warm. Good snack for a cocktail party.
