Mushrooms are great for health. They are excellent source of vitamin D, protein and carbohydrates. Mushrooms have potential anti-cancer properties and low glycemic index which make them an excellent dietary option for diabetics. They also help in maintaining cholesterol levels and are excellent for heart health. Mushrooms are a good source of vitamin b2, they naturally boost your immune system, help in weight management and are great for your skin and hair.
So here is a simple and easy recipe.. its a very good cocktail party starter.
For the mushroom
- Button Mushrooms 200gm
- Rosemary 1sprig
- Thyme 1 sprig
- Garlic 2 tsp chopped
- Crushed Pepper Powder 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil 1 tbsp
For the sauce
- Butter 1 tsp
- Thyme 1 sprig
- Garlic 1 clove chopped
- Tomato puree or tomato ketch up 2 tbsp
- Onion 1 medium chopped
- Cheddar cheese 3 tbsp
- Coriander leaves to garnish.
Method
Marinate the mushroom with rosemary and thyme, chopped garlic, salt, pepper and a bit of oil for 20 minutes.
Cook mushrooms in the oven for 160 degree for 8 minutes.
For sauce
Take a pan, put butter and saute onion, garlic, tomato puree, thyme and cook for sometime.
Remove from flame and let it cool for 2 minutes.
Add cheese to the above mixture and blend it. After sauce is made, taste and check if seasoning is required since cheese already has salt.
Pour cheese sauce into a small bowl, and put roasted mushrooms on a toothpick with coriander leaves and serve warm. Good snack for a cocktail party.
