Tuna Rice, spicy and aroma rice with tuna. A very nice and easy lunch box dish, here is recipe for you all to try.
- Rice 2 cups, cooked, basmati / white rice
- Canned Tuna 1 can, drain oil and keep chunks only
- Green chilli 4 nos, sliced
- Onion 2 medium size, sliced
- Ginger 1 medium size, chopped
- Garlic 6 cloves, chopped
- Fennel Seeds 1 tsp
- Puthina leaves few, chopped
- Coriander leaves few, chopped
- Biriyani Masala / Garam Masala 1 1/2 tsp
- Pepper Powder 1 tsp
- Salt
- Oil
- Ghee 2 tsp
- Cloves 4 nos
- Cinnamon sticks 2 nos
- Cardamom 2 nos
- Star Anees 1
- Bay Leaves 2 nos
Method
Heat oil in a large sauce pan, add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks, star anees and bay leaf. Once it leaves the aroma add sliced onion and saute for 3 minutes. Meanwhile grind ginger, garlic, puthina leaves, coriander leaves and fennel seeds and make a smooth paste. Once onions become soft add ginger garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes or till the raw smell goes off. Add green chilli and saute for 1 minute. Add tuna chunks and saute for 2 minutes. Keep in low flame, cover and cook for 1 minute. Add pepper powder, biriyani masala and salt saute for 1 minute. Add ghee now and stir well. Add cooked rice and stir well till masala coats well with the rice. Cover the lid and cook for 1 minute. Open and add few mint leaves and coriander leaves and mix well. Serve warm with pickle or raita.
NB: You can make ghee rice and mix with tuna or with left over cooked rice. Enjoy cooking.
