Beetroot Dates pickle, the best side dish for Biriyani, its famous in Malabar region. Here is simple recipe for you all to try.
- Beetroot 1 medium size, grated
- Dates 8 nos
- Green Chilli 3 nos
- Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Ginger 1 small piece
- Vinegar 1/2 cup
- Salt
Method
Grate the Beetroot, finely slice the garlic, chilly, ginger and 5 dates.
Grind the 3 dates with very little warm water in grinder to a smooth paste. Take a medium size glass bowl or steel bowl put chilli powder, salt and vinegar and mix well. In this put beetroot, sliced garlic chilli, ginger and 5 dates and combine well.
Leave it outside for a day so that the dates and beetroot are complete soaked in vinegar and start getting processed. Serve with ghee rice, fried rice and biriyani.
NB: You can refrigerate it there after and keep it stored for upto a month. Prepare one day before so the beetroot tastes good when serving. It goes best with Biriyani. Enjoy cooking..
