Chicken stew, mildly spicy and creamy flavoured curry with Chicken. So here is recipe for you all to try.
- Chicken 1 kg ( cut into medium size pieces)
- Onion 2 medium , sliced
- Ginger 1 medium piece, chopped
- Garlic 4 cloves, chopped
- Pottato 2 medium size, cubed
- Cinnamon 2 small piece
- Cardamom 3 nos
- Cloves 4 nos
- Black Pepper 1/4 tsp
- Fennel Seeds 1/4 tsp
- Black pepper powder 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala 1/4 tsp
- Coconut Milk 2 1/2 cup, thin one
- Coconut Milk 1 1/2 cup, thick one
- Coconut oil
- Salt
- Curry Leaves 3 sprigs
Method
Heat oil in a medium size sauce pan and splutter the fennel seeds, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamoms and black pepper. Add sliced onion and saute for a minute. Add chopped ginger and garlic and saute for 2 minutes. Add green chilli and 2 sprigs of curry leaves and saute for 1 minute. Saute till onions becomes soft. Add chicken pieces, salt and chopped potatoes . Mix well, add thin coconut milk and cover and cook. Add black pepper powder and garam masala continue cooking till the chicken is fully cooked. Add the thick coconut milk , reduce the flame and cook for 5 minutes . Fry 1 sprig curry leaves and pour on top of the stew. Serve warm with bread, appam or ghee rice.
NB: Use chicken with bones. If you want can add 1 carrot also. Enjoy cooking.
