Kovakkai Mezhukupuratti ( Ivy Guard fry)

Kovakkai fry, a quick and easy side dish, goes well with rice and chapati. Here is recipe for you all to try.

  • Kovakkai / Ivy guard 200gm
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli Flakes 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil

Rinse kovakkai with water well. Clean and cut the edges. Cut lengthwise into four slices.

Take a medium size fry pan, add the kovakkai slices, turmeric powder and salt with little water, cover and cook till it becomes soft and all the water evaporates. Now add curry leaves and pepper flakes and stir well. Add 1 tbsp of oil and stir well. Till it saute well with oil and fried. Serve warm with rice. A good side dish for rice.
