Pineapple Pachadi

Pineapple pachadi is a very delicious and exotic dish which has sweet and tangy taste, preparation with coconut and curd.


Pineapple chopped 1 cup
Green chilli chopped 4 nos
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Sugar/ Jaggery 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

For grinding 

Grated coconut 1/4 cup
Curd 1/4 cup
Cumin / Jeera seeds 1tsp
Mustard Seeds 1tsp

For the seasoning 

Coconut oil 2tsp
Mustard seeds 3/4 tsp
Red chillies 2
Curry Leaves few


Peel the skin and remove the core of the pineapple. Chop it into small pieces.

Grind coconut , cumin seeds, musturd seeds and curd to a fine paste and keep it aside.

Cook pineapple with very less water adding salt,turmeric powder, green chilli and sugar/ jaggery.

Once pineapple becomes soft keep the flame in low and add the ground coconut paste and cook till the raw smell of the coconut goes, keep stiring as curd is there in the mixture ,( if you want can add curd separately no need to grind with coconut) . switch of the flame.

Heat coconut oil, add mustard seeds, when it splits, add red chilli , curry leaves and pour it over the pachadi.

Serve it as a side for rice.
