Fish Egg Thoren / Fish Roe stir fry with Coconut

Fish egg thoren, a kerala delicasy, i am quite sure there are lots of people in Kerala who love this dish. So here is simple recipe.




Ingredients
  • Fish Roe / Meen mutta 1 cup
  • Onion 1 medium chopped
  • Shallots 5 sliced
  • Ginger 1 small piece chopped
  • Green Chilli 3 chopped
  • Dry Red Chilli 2 
  • Turmeric Powder 1/3 tsp
  • Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut grated 1/2 cup
  • Cumin Seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Feng greek seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste 
  • Coconut Oil 2 tbs

Method

In a blender put cumin seeds, shallots and coconut just crush all together and keep aside.

Clean fish eggs drain water and keep aside.

Heat Oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they splutter add menu greek seeds, curry leaves , dry red chilli and chopped ginger and saute for a minute. 

Next add onions and green chilli saute till golden brown. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and cleaned fish egg and mix well. Cover and cook for a minute. Add coconut mix and mix well cover and cook for three minutes. Open and fry for another one minute. Check salt if need add then put off flame. Serve hot with rice.
