Method
Take a dry tawa and dry roast sesame seeds until you can smell the aroma of the seeds. Take care not to burn them . Set aside to cool.
Heat Oil in the same tawa and add urid dal and the dry red chillies until the dal turn into a light brown colour. Add the green chillies and roast for couple of seconds. Now add chopped tomatoes cover and cook for 2 minutes in low flame. Now add the tamarind piece, a pinch of sugar and salt mix well. Add chopped coriander leaves saute for 1 minute, remove from fire and set aside to cool.
Once the above mixture is cool put it in a mixer or blender along with dry roasted sesame seeds grind as a corse paste. If require you can add 1 tbsp water while grinding.
Transfer to a serving bowl and season with mustard seeds, cumin seeds and dry red chilli.
Serve this spicy chutney with dosa, crisp adai or with warm rice.
Note: If you want can add 2 table spoon of dry coconut or fresh grated coconut before adding the tomatoes. That also tastes good.
