We cook sausage in many ways, here I tried sausage biriyani or sausage masala rice. Its simple and flavourful rice with sausages. I used chicken sausages for this recipe, you can use your favourite sausages. Here is recipe for you all to try.
- Basmati Rice 1 cup (cooked)
- Chicken Sausage 4 nos
- Onion 1 medium, sliced
- Tomato 1 medium size, chopped
- Green Chilli 3 nos
- Ginger and Garlic Paste 1 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp + 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp
- Black Pepper Powder 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
- Biriyani Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
- Cloves 3 nos
- Cardamom 2 nos
- Cinnamon 1 " piece
- Mint and Coriander Leaves few chopped
Chop chicken sausages to thick chunks, marinate it with little red chilli powder (1/2 tsp), turmeric powder (1/4 tsp), pepper powder and salt. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan when hot add marinated sausage and shallow fry and keep it aside.
Add some more oil in the same pan and add cloves, cardamoms, cinnamon and saute for few seconds. Now add the sliced onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add green chilli and saute for 1 minute. Now add the ginger garlic paste saute well. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt and combine well. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till it becomes soft. Add fried sausage and few of chopped mint and coriander leaves, mix well. Add Biriyani masala now and saute for few seconds. Add 2 tbsp of water and cover and cook for 2 minutes. Open and add cooked basamathi rice, combine well. Check salt if need add accordingly. Now add few more chopped coriander and mint leaves and serve warm.
