Puttu Ularthiyathu With Egg

Here is simple and spicy recipe with left over puttu. Its good for light dinner or a tea time snack. No need for any side dish with it. Here is recipe for you all to try.. 



Ingredients
  • Puttu / Steam cake 2 , crumbled
  • Onion 1 medium size, thinly sliced
  • Ginger 1 small piece, chopped
  • Egg 2 nos
  • Green chilli 4 nos, slitted
  • Tomato 1 medium size, chopped
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Chicken Masala Powder or Meat Masala Powder 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves few
  • Coriander Leaves few, chopped
  • Coconut Oil
  • Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Dry red chilli 2 
  • Salt
Method

Heat oil in a deep non stick pan or kadai, crackle mustard seeds, add dry red chilli and few curry leaves and saute for a second. Then add sliced onion and saute for 2 minutes, add chopped ginger and slitted green chilli. Fry till onion becomes light brown. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and meat masala powder and saute for few seconds. Add chopped tomato and salt, saute well. Put little water and cook till tomato becomes mushy. Mean time mix egg with little salt and mix well and keep it aside. Now add egg and mix well and cook egg. Then add few more curry leaves and mix well. Add crumbled puttu and mix well. Keep it in low flame and combine well. Now add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Its ready to serve.. Have this warm.. 

NB: If you want can add extra coconut in this dish. If you don't have chicken or meat masala then add little coriander powder and garam masala. I didn't had curry leaves and coriander when i was making this. You can add vegetables also if you want, carrot, beans etc. Enjoy cooking..
