Sardine (Mathi) Onion Fry
A tasty recipe for this cold water fish which contains very high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for brain and vision development. Sardines are also rich in iron, potassium and vitamin B6.
I think everybody like Sardine(Mathi / Chala) and its the favorite fish of Keralites, normaly we make fish curry or fish fry, here is different recipe with sardine.
Ingredients
- Mathi / /Sardine 5 nos.
- Kudam puli 3 nos.
- Curry leaves. 5 springs with the stem.
- Turmeric Powder. 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder. 1/2 tsp
- Onion sliced 3
- Green chillies. 3
- Ginger crushed 1 tsp
- Garlic crushed. 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli powder. 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Coconut oil. 3 tsp
Method
Cook the fish along with salt , kudampuli n turmeric powder in little water. When the fish is cooked well. Take the flesh of the fish.
Heat coconut oil in a manchatti or frying pan and add mustard seeds. Then add sliced onions, crushed ginger, crushed garlic, sliced green chillies and sauté untill onion become slight brown in colour. Then add red chilli powder, pepper powder n salt. Mix it well.
Add the cooked sardines flesh in to it. After adding the fish pieces swirl the clay pot to mix everything well. Add some curry leaves n switch off.
Serve hot with steam rice.

Summer Salad
Summers are made for salads. This salad require minimal ingredients and are the perfect way to enjoy fresh summer produce.
Ingredients
- Avocados 1 nos(sliced)
- Red Capsicum 1 nos(sliced)
- Yellow Capsicum 1 nos(sliced)
- Lettuce Leaves Few
- Cucumber 1nos(sliced)
- Carrot 1nos(sliced)
- Cherry Tomatos Few
Dressing
- Honey 1/2 tsp
- Pepper Powder 1/4 tsp
- Olive Oil 1/2 tbsp
- Lime Juice 1/2 tbsp
- Salt
Method
In a bowl whisk well dressing ingredients. Add vegetables into it and mix well. Serve chilled.

Carrot Almond Payasam
Easy sweet dessert recipe you can make for any occasion, generally payasams are made during festive occasions, however that should not be the case especially as far as this carrot payasam is concerned.
Ingredients
- Ghee 2 tbsp
- Carrot 4 medium peeled and cut into small chunks
- Almonds 1/3 cup soak in warm water and remove skin
- Milk 3 cup
- Condensed Milk 3 tbsp
- Sugar 1/3 cup
- Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
- Almonds few for garnish
Method
Crush carrot and almonds in a food processor or blender and keep it aside.
In a sauce pan put ghee and once it melt add crushed carrot badam mixture and sauté for 5 minutes then add milk, let them boil. when it starts boiling add condensed milk and sugar. boil for 5 to 10 minutes or till they became thick, add cardamom powder and mix well. Garnish with some sliced almonds. Serve hot or cold.

- Brocoli 1 small (steamed)
