Mushrooms are a low calorie food. It has an excellent source of vitamin B, essential minerals and a good source of phosphorus and potassium.
Here is the dish, mushroom stir fry with onion and coconut.
- Sliced Mushroom 2cup
- Onion Chopped 1 nos
- Green Chilli chopped 2 nos
- Garlic chopped 2nos
- Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
- Pepper Powder 1/4 tsp
- Grated Coconut 1/4 cup
- Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
- Dry Red chilli 2 nos
- Salt to taste
- Oil
- Curry Leaves and Coriander leaves few
Heat oil in a pan and allow mustard seeds and and red chilli to splutter
Add chopped garlic, onion and green chilli into it stir well.
When onion turns transparent add sliced mushroom along with turmeric powder and salt.
Cover and cook (no need to add water as mushroom will ooze water).
Crush grated coconut with garam masala, chilli powder and coriander powder.
Once the mushroom cooked well and water dries up, add crushed coconut mix.
Add pepper powder and stir well.
Remove from the fire after two minutes and add curry leaves n chopped coriander leaves.
Serve with steamed rice or chapathi.
