Cauliflower with Chickpeas is a simple and dry vegetable dish. Its best dish goes well with warm roti or poori. I told its a dry vegetable dish so its good to pack during your train journey or picnic with roti. We can roll this inside roti and have it also. If you want can add few chopped coriander leaves in this. So here is recipe for you all to try.
- Cauliflower 1 medium size
- Chickpeas 1 cup, canned or cooked
- Ginger 1 medium size piece, crushed
- Garlic 6 cloves, crushed
- Onion 1 big size, chopped
- Coriander Powder 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder 1tsp
- Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder 1/2 tsp
- Tomatoes 2 medium once, chopped
- Salt
- Oil
Method
Clean and remove cauliflower florets, and blanch them and remove water and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a big size kadai or medium size sauce pan on medium flame. Once the oil is hot add chopped onions and saute until golden colour. Now add crushed ginger and garlic saute for 1 minute or until raw smell goes. Now add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chili powder and garam masala powder, fry on low flame for few seconds or until raw smell goes away. Now add chopped tomatoes and salt combine everything well, cover and cook until tomatoes are soft and cook. Now add blanched cauliflower florets mix well, cover and cook until almost done. Add the cooked chickpeas and continue to cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Check salt if need add accordingly. Its ready to serve now, serve with warm roti. Enjoy..
