Oats Carrot Smoothie, its an easy and refreshing smoothie with oats and carrot. It takes only a few minutes to prepare, and is ideal for a quick and light breakfast. Its so filling so you can make on a busy day for breakfast. Its very healthy for adults and ultimate super food for kids too. You can have this as a great snack in between meals. Here is recipe for you all to try.
- Oats 2 1/2 tbsp
- Milk 1 cup, chilled
- Carrot juice 3/4 cup
- Dates 6 pitted
- Pista 1 tbsp chopped
- Honey 3 tsp
Method
Cook oats in 3/4 cup of water until thick and keep aside it to cool.
Soak Dates in a luke warm milk or water
Extract 3/4 to 1 cup of juice from carrots. Grate 3 to 4 medium sized carrots, add 3/4 cup of water and grind it to a fine paste.Then filter it using a juice strainer. Extract as much juice as possible by pressing it with a masher or ladle.
Combine cooked oats, soaked dates, carrot juice, honey, 1/2 tbsp of chopped pista and little milk in a blender and blend until smooth. Then add the rest of the milk and blend well for few more seconds. Pour it into glasses and garnish with chopped pista . Serve chilled.
NB: You get 2 glasses of oats carrot smoothie according to above ingredients. If you want more sweetness then add sugar. I didnt use sugar in this recipe, for me it was ok, with the sweetness of dates and honey. Enjoy cooking..
