  • Ginger 1 small piece chopped
  • Garlic 4 cloves, chopped
  • Tomatoes , 1 medium size, chopped
  • Curry Leaves 2 sprigs
  • Coriander Leaves few, chopped
  • Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder 1tsp
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Ghee / Butter

Method
Cut fish into small cubes, here I used Salmon fish. Clean well with water and drain water well and marinate it with ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, lemon juice,1 tsp of oil and salt. Keep it aside for 30 to 45 minutes. Then preheat oven at 280 degree celsius. Take a baking tray with aluminum foil and grease with oil. Now arrange the fish pieces on the baking tray and bake on 180 degree for about 15 to 20 minutes. No need to flip in between as we cut the fish in small cubes. Take out baking tray and set aside to cool down. You can also tawa fry the fish cubes.

Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 20 minutes, then drain water well. Heat a medium size sauce pan and ghee and 1 tsp of oil. Add star anees , cardamom and cloves and saute for few seconds then add sliced onion and saute for 2 minutes, add green chillies and saute well until the onion become translucent. Add curry leaves now and saute for few seconds, add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of chili powder and 1/2 tsp of garam masala and saute until raw smell goes. Now add chopped tomato and saute until it becomes soft, not mashed. Now drain water well from the soaked rice and add it into the masala mix, add 1 more tsp of oil and fry for 3 to 5 minutes on medium flame. Now add 4 cup of water and cook the rice, once its 90 percentage cooked add baked fish pieces in it and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes on low flame. Open and stir well and add some chopped coriander leaves and serve warm with pickle.

NB: Please take care of the heat while cooking rice, not to burn. Fish pieces you can shallow fry in oil too. I juts want to avoid some oil so baked the fish, it tastes good. You can cook rice separately add into the masala too. Enjoy cooking..
