Paniyaram

Kuzhi Paniyaram is a superb south Indian breakfast dish. The speciality of making paniyaram is the batter and the pan. Paniyaram pan also known as Appam Pan. Here is simple and easy paniyaram recipe for you all to try.



Ingredients
  • White Rice / Idli Rice1 cup
  • Urad Dal 1/2 cup
  • Fenugreek Seed 1/2 tsp
  • Oil
  • Green Chillies 2 or 3, chopped
  • Dry Red chilli 2 
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves 2 sprigs
  • Salt
Method

Wash and soak white rice / idli rice and fenugreek seeds together and urad dal separately for 5 hours. Grind both rice and fenugreek seeds together and urad dal separately, until smooth. Combine both the batters, add salt and mix well. Allow it to ferment for overnight. 

In a pan heat oil add in the mustard seeds and wait until it gets splutter. Add the red chilli, green chilli, and curry leaves saute well. In a bowl add sauted mix into the batter and mix well. Heat a drop of oil into each moulds up to 3/4 full. Cover and cook until the bottom side of the paniyaram gets cooked, turn and cook on the other side until it gets cooked and colour changes to golden brown. 

NB: if you want can add chopped onions also. Enjoy cooking.
