Arrowroot with Plantain

Arrowroot with Plantain, a healthy and traditional pudding. Arrowroot powder is a natural powdered root starch that is white in colour and very lightweight. The plant was given the name "arrowroot" because it was once used to treat those injured with wounds from poisoned arrows. The powder generaly used as a substitute for cornstarch, as a thickening agent for gourmet dishes. Arrowroot is an easily digested starch, so its healthy. Here is simple recipe for you all to try.


Ingredients
  • Arrowroot Powder 2 tbsp
  • Plantain 1 , chopped
  • Cardamom Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar 1/4 cup
  • Water 2 cup
Method

Take a pan and add arrowroot powder and water mix well, put on the flame and keep the pan, keep stiring the mix. Keep it in medium low flame and stir well. Add chopped plantain and stir well. Now add sugar and mix well, till it becomes thick consistency. Add cardamom powder and combine well. Check the mix, if it reached thick consistency put off the flame. Immediately pour into moulds or in small bowls and keep it aside for cooling. No need to keep it in the fridge. It will get set in 2 to 3 hours in room temperature. 

NB: If you want add more sugar. You can add cashew nuts and raisins roasted in ghee. Enjoy cooking.
