Banana Stem (VazhaPindi Thoran) Stir fry

Banana stem, is an easy to make stir fry. Banana stem is good for health. Its good source of dietary fibre. Its rich in potassium and it can cure stomach pains. Here is recipe for you all to try.



Ingredients
  • Banana stump 2 cup, chopped
  • Onion 1 medium size, chopped
  • Green chilli 3 chopped
  • Dry red chilli 2 
  • Curry Leaves 2 sprigs
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coconut 1/4 cup, grated
  • Salt
  • Coconut oil 2 tbsp
Method

Cut banana stump into rounds and simultaneously loop its serum onto your fingers to discard it.

Chop banana stump into fine pieces. Rinse with turmeric water for 2 to 3 times, drain and keep it aside. Take a pan put oil, then add mustard seeds, once its splutter add curry leaves and dry red chilli saute few seconds, then chopped onion and saute for 1 minute. Add slitted green chilli and saute for few seconds. Now add chopped banana stump, turmeric powder and salt. Keep it in medium flame cover and cook till it becomes soft. Once it becomes soft add grated coconut and mix well. Check salt if require add now and mix well. Put off flame and serve warm with rice.
