Tawa Chicken, simple and easy way to make chicken. Delicious dish using marinated chicken coated with spices and its very flavorful dish. Here is recipe for you all to try.
- Chicken 800gm, medium size pieces
- Curd / Yogurt 1/2 cup, thick one
- Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
- Chilli Powder 1 tsp
- Kashmiri Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder 2 tsp
- Cumin Powder 1/2 tsp
- Pepper Powder 1 tsp
- Ginger Paste / Crushed once 1 tbsp
- Garlic Paste / Crushed once 1 tbsp
- Dry Mint leaves few
- Onion 1 big size finely chopped
- Ginger 1 tbsp, finely chopped
- Green Chili 2 nos, finely chopped
- Tomato 1 medium size, thinly sliced
Clean and rinse chicken pieces with water then drain water well and keep it aside. Take a bowl and add curd, turmeric powder, chili powder, kashmiri chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, pepper powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, dried mint leaves and salt. combine everything well. Now add drained chicken pieces in it and mix well. Marinate for 3 to 4 hours, keep it in the fridge.
Heat a medium size nonstick pan / tawa with oil . Once the oil is hot add marinated chicken pieces and cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes on medium flame. Then turn the chicken pieces and cook the other side also for 10 minutes. Now add chopped onion, green chilli, ginger and tomato, no need to mix. Cover and cook for 12 to 15 minutes on medium low flame. Open the lid and combine everything well. Check salt and pepper if need add accordingly. Now increase the flame on high and cook for 6 to 8 minutes or until all the masala get dried well. If you want can add chopped coriander or mint leaves on top and serve with warm rice or roti.
NB: Instead of garam masala you can add tandoori masala for this recipe. Chili powder please adjust according to your taste. If you dont have dried mint leaves please add chopped fresh mint leaves. Enjoy cooking.
