Minced beef kebab, kebab is originated in middle eastern region then we all adopted from there and started making deferent kebabs according to the region. Here malabar style minced beef kebab, I got this wonderfull recipe from school buddies, they are always giving me their mums traditional recipes and encouraging through this cooking journey, many thanks to them for this support. This kabab is flavorful and once we fry the rich aroma stays in the kitchen, I loved that. Generally I'm not a meat lover but these type of dishes I couldn't resist so you can imagine how it tastes. Here is recipe for you all to try. You can serve this for evening snack or for dinner party as an appetizer.

  • Chana Dal 1/4 cup
  • Black Pepper Cornes 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon Stick 1 medium piece
  • Cloves 3 nos
  • Cardamom 2 nos
  • Dry Kashmiri Chili 2 nos
  • Garlic Cloves 3 nos
  • Salt
  • Egg 2 nos, 1 boiled
  • Onion 1 medium one, finely chopped
  • Green Chili 2 nos, finely chopped
  • Curry Leaves few chopped
  • Oil
Method

Rinse minced beef water and dry water well. Take a pressure cooker and add drained minced beef, chanadal, black pepper cornes, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamoms, garlic cloves and salt. Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 2 to 3 whistle or until its cooked. If not putting in the pressure cooker then cook in normal pot for 20 to 30 minutes. Once its cooked just check water if its there then drain that or boil and dry that water well and keep it aside.

Take a chopper or blender and add cooked beef, salt, chopped onion, chopped green chili, curry leaves and boiled 1 egg and crush for few minutes.

In a medium size bowl add egg white with a pinch of salt and pepper powder mix well and keep.

Take a handful of meat mix and roll it in an ovel shape, normal kabab shape or the shape which you like. Dip it in the egg white and shallow fry them in oil.

Take a fry pan and heat with oil on medium heat and shallow fry the kababs. Serve warm with your favorite sauce and chutney. Here I served with mint yogurt chutney and plum sauce.

NB: Green chili and black pepper please adjust according to your spice level. If you dont want boiled egg in this can omit that, but i liked small egg bites in it. Enjoy cooking..
