Scotch Eggs

The scotch egg needs no introduction. Generaly scotch egg prepare with sausage meat or any other meat but here i used potatoes instead of meat. Hope you all will like this.

  • Hard Boiled eggs 6 nos
  • Ginger 1" piece chopped
  • Garlic 2 cloves chopped
  • Potato 4 medium boiled and mashed
  • Green Chilli 3 nos chopped
  • Onion 1 big chopped
  • Cumin Powder 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper 1 tsp
  • Chilli Powder 1/2 
  • Coriander Powder 1 tbsp
  • Bread Crumbs 
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Salt to taste


In a non stick pan add two tablespoon oil then add ginger and garlic saute for a minute then add onion and chopped green chillies saute then add coriander powder, chilli powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder and saute for a while then add mashed potato and salt into it. Mix well and then turn off the flame and keep aside to cool the mixture.

Divide mixture into 6 portions and use each one to enclose a hard boiled egg, dip in egg and coat with bread crumbs, deep fry for about 4 minutes until crisp. 

Drain and serve with tomato sauce.
