Vanilla Panna cotta With Pomegranate Sauce

Yum
Vanilla Panna Cotta with Pomegranate sauce, Panna Cotta, its an Italian Desert, they call it 'cooked cream', its a basic pudding that made with diary products, sugar and gelatin.  In this pudding didnt use flour and egg. I used to have this desert at Italian restaurants, last week I decided to try at home and it came out well. They used to serve this with berry sauce but I had pomegranate at home so thought of trying with it. So here is simple and easy recipe for you all to try.

Ingredients
  • Milk 1 cup, full cream
  • Sugar 3 tbsp
  • Gelatin Powder 1/2 tbsp, soak in 1 tbsp of water
  • Vanila Essence 1 tsp
  • Fresh Cream 1 1/4 cup
  • Cooking spray  / oil
  • Pudding bowls or Ramekins 4 nos
For the sauce
  • Pomegranate seeds 1 cup
  • Water 1/4 cup
  • Sugar 3 tbsp
Method

Take a sauce pan add milk and sugar and keep it for boiling on medium flame. Add soaked china grass in it and mix well. Keep stirring once bubbles start coming put of flame and keep it aside. Now add vanilla essence and fresh cream in this and combine well. Just keep until the mixture gets luke warm. Now take pudding glass bowls or ramekins and apply cooking spray or oil and keep it ready. Now pour this pudding mix and cover it with cling film and keep it in the fridge for 4 to 6 hours or overnight to set the pudding.  Before serving you can keep 10 minutes outside from the fridge and run a thin knife or butter knife around the ramekins or pudding bowl  and un mould them, if its coming out right away then dip the ramekins or pudding bowl in hot water and try to un mould, I'm sure it will come out easily. Serve with your choice of sauce.

Meanwhile you can make pomegranate sauce, take a pan and keep it on medium flame and pour 1/4 cup water , sugar and 3/4 cup of pomegranate seeds and saute until you get thick sauce. Once it cools down you can use a strainer and take the thick sauce and remove seeds.

While serving the panacotta you can add pomegranate sauce and fresh pomegranate seeds on top and serve.

NB: If you feel want to add any flour in this recipe then you can add 1 tbsp of cornflour.  Sugar you can adjust according to your taste. With the above ingredients you get 4 bowls or ramekins of panna cotta. Enjoy cooking.
