Oats Soup With Vegetables, an easy and healthy soup with minimum ingredients. Studies show that oats and oatmeal have many health benefits. These include weight loss, lower blood sugar levels and a reduced risk of heart disease. It has good source of carbs, fibre and protein. So try to include oats in your diet. This soup you can have for a quick breakfast or during a break time or for a lite dinner. Here is recipe for you all to try.
Ingredients
- Oats 1/2 cup
- Water 1/4 + 1 cup
- Carrot 1 medium size finely chopped
- French Beans few finely chopped
- Garlic 2 nos, chopped
- Green Chili 2 nos, finely chopped
- Onion 1 small one finely chopped
- Pepper a pinch
- Coriander leaves (optional) 2 tsp finely chopped
- Oil 1 or 2 tsp, Sunflower or Olive oil
- Salt
Method
Heat a medium size fry pan or sauce pan on medium low flame. Put oil now, once its hot add chopped garlic and saute for few seconds. Add chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes. Now add chopped green chili, carrots and beans and saute for few seconds. Add 1/2 cup oats and saute for few seconds. Add water and salt. cover and cook until oats gets cooked and thickened. If you feel its more thicker then add some more water and boil. Add pepper powder and mix well. Check salt if need ad accordingly. Put off flame and serve hot. If you are adding coriander leaves then add now. If you want can add a small cube of butter while serving. Enjoy cooking..
NB: If you want a rich look for this soup then add 1/2 or 1 cup milk or 1/2 cup fresh cream. Instead of coriander leaves can add some mixed dried herbs.
