Green Pepper Mussels fry, its spicy and flavorful. Malabaries love kallumakaya / mussels in any form. This fry with green pepper has deferent taste with kalumakkaya. When you get fresh green peppers please try this. So here is simple and easy recipe for you all to try.
- Mussels / Kallumakaya 250 gm
- Shallots 8 to 10 nos, sliced
- Ginger 1 small piece, chopped
- Garlic cloves 1 chopped
- Green Pepper Cornes 1/4 cup
- Lemon Juice 1 tsp
- Coconut Oil
Wash and clean the Mussels shells well and put them in a pot with little water and boil till the shell open. Drain all the water and take out the mussels from the shell, clean the hairy thing and remove the black part in the bottom of the mussels. Rinse well with water and turmeric powder. Drain water well and keep it aside.
Take a small mixer jar and put shallots, ginger, garlic, green pepper cornes, lemon juice and salt and make it a corse paste. Apply this on the cleaned and kept mussels and keep it aside for 30 to 40 minutes.
Heat a non stick pan with 2 tbsp of oil on medium flame and shallow fry the marinated mussels. Please take care not to burn the mussels.
NB: Pepper cornes please use according to your spice level. Enjoy cooking.
