Chicken Drumsticks In Cherry Tomato Gravy

Chicken Drumsticks In Cherry Tomato Gravy, its a nice and medium gravy dish with chicken drumsticks and cherry tomatoes. We have some cherry tomatoes in the garden. Used in salads and in pastas and still had few, its still coming also. Birds also started having that, thought let it be they also has a wright to have that. Then also some were there, so decided to make a chicken gravy with this. So used our regular spices and made this flavorful dish. So here is recipe for you all to try.






Ingredients
  • Chicken Drumsticks 8 nos
  • Onion 2 nos, chopped
  • Ginger 1 small piece, chopped
  • Garlic 4 cloves, chopped
  • Red chilli 2 nos, chopped
  • Cherry Tomatoes / Plum Tomatoes 200 gm
  • Tomato Paste 150 gm
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder 3/4 tsp to 1 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves 1/4 cup chopped
  • Salt
  • Oil
Method

Remove chicken skin and clean chicken drumsticks. Put few lines on the chicken drumsticks and marinate with a pinch of turmeric powder, salt and little black powder. Keep it aside for 20 minutes. 

Take a medium size sauce pan and put oil, once oil is hot add chopped ginger and garlic and saute until raw smell goes off. Add chopped onion and sate until onions become translucent. Now add chopped red chili and saute for few seconds. Keep heat on low flame and add tomatoe paste and saute for few seconds. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, kashmiri chili powder and garam masala powder, saute for few seconds. Now add marinated chicken pieces and fry for 2 minutes on low flame. Add halved cherry tomatoes and salt, combine everything well. Add 1/2 to 1 cup water and cover and cook on medium flame until chicken is cooked. After 10 minutes open and add half of the chopped coriander leaves and cover and cook again for 10 to 15 minutes. Just check salt and water in the gravy, if need add accordingly. Once the chicken is cooked remove from flame and add remaining coriander leaves and combine well. Close and keep for 15 minutes then serve with warm rice, roti or appam etc. 

NB If you dont get fresh cherry tomatoes then use canned or bottled tomatoes instead. Enjoy cooking..
