  • Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
  • Tomato 1 big, chopped

  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp

  • Garam Masala Powder 1 tsp
  • Pepper Power 1/2 tsp
  • Curry Leaves 2 sprigs
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Menu greek seeds 1/4 tsp
  • Oil
Method

Clean fish roe with water with turmeric powder, rinse well in water few times then drain water well. Here I got Hake fish roes, its big in size, you can use king fish roe, pamphret fish roe etc. Since the hake fish roe was big I applied little salt and turmeric powder then boiled them with little water for about 8 to 10 minutes. Then drained water well. Then marinate  with 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of chilli powder, 1/4 tsp of pepper powder, salt and lemon juice mix well until all ingredients coat well with fish roe and keep it aside for 20 minutes. If you are using medium size or small size fish roe for this recipe then no need to boil them in water just marinate and keep it for 1 hour.

Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, once it splutter add chopped onion, saute until it becomes soft and translucent. Add ginger and garlic paste and saute for 1 minute. Add chopped green chilli and saute well. Add chopped tomato, stir and saute until tomatoes becomes soft. Add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp of chilli powder, 1 tsp of kashmiri chilli powder, 1/4 tsp of pepper powder and 1 tsp of garam masala powder. Saute well until raw smell goes off. When oil separates from the masala add marinated fish roe and combine well. Add 1/4 cup of water, cover and cook for 2 minutes. Check salt and other spices if need add accordingly. Flip the fish roe other side carefully and cook for 2 more minutes. Add in curry leaves and stir well, cover and cook for 1 minute. Open and stir well and serve with rice, roti etc..

NB: Adjust spices according to your taste.
