Purple Cabbage Thoran

Purple cabbage thoran, cabbage thoran is common side dish for a kerala meal. Here i made with purple cabbage, it keeps changing colour depends on the ingredients used to cook with it and i used caste iron pan so it changed colour a bit. Here is recipe for you all to try. 



Ingredients
  • Purple Cabbage 250gm
  • Onion 1 medium size, chopped
  • Green Chilli 3 nos, sliced
  • Curry Leaves 2 or 3 sprigs
  • Coconut 1/4 cup, grated
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli 2 nos
  • Salt
  • Oil
Method

Clean and chop the cabbage and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan splutter mustard seeds, then put dry red chilli, then curry leaves. After that put chopped onion and saute well for 1 minute. Add green chilli and saute for a second. Add chopped purple cabbage and saute well. Add salt and turmeric powder. Cover and cook for 2 to 5 minutes. Then open and add grated coconut. Stir for a minute. Put off flame and serve warm with rice. 

NB: Instead of coconut you can put one egg that gives deferent taste. Enjoy cooking.
