Grilled Dorado Fish

Yum
Grilled Dorado fish with hot sauce, its spicy and hot dish. Dorado fish is one of South Africas best known and popular fish. You can use your favorite fish for this recipe. Usually South Africans really dont add anything in this fish because its a excellent tasting fish. But I grilled dorado fish with spicy sauce, here is recipe for you all to try.

Ingredients
  • Dorado Fish 4 pieces 500gm
  • Lemon Juice 1 tbsp
  • Olive Oil 2 tbsp
  • Spicy Sauce 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp
  • Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tsp
  • Shallots / Small Onion 2 nos, chopped
Method

In a small pan add chopped shallots, vinegar, lemon juice and heat on medium flame, once it boil add spicy sauce and lower the flame and once the bubble start comes add olive and combine well. Season the mixture with salt, please take care while adding because the spicy sauce has salt in it. Keep this aside.

Clean and take the Dorado fish, apply little olive oil, 1 tbsp of spicy sauce, salt and pepper powder in it and keep it aside.

Pre heat oven for 8 minutes on 200 degree C. Brush a sheet pan with 1 tbsp of olive oil. Once the oven is heat, reduce oven temperature into 180 degree C and place the dorado fish pieces or fillets on the pan and grill until they are just cooked and colour turns brown, 3 to 5 minutes each side. Remove from the grill and keep it in the serving plate, pour over the spicy sauce which we kept aside.

Serve warm with cucumber salad or any other salad which you wish. Here I served with mashed potato.

NB: Here I used hot peri peri sauce by Nandos, you can use hot red chili sauce or other spicy sauce which you like. Instead of dorado fish you can use King fish or Pamphret fish. Enjoy cooking..
